The universe contains a number of interacting elements of different kinds represents organisations whose employees and managers are committed and where practices are developing.
We interviewed nearly 600 professionals to provide an overview of the current state of digital transformation within organisations.
Intranet Observatorya listening system that has been in operation since 1999, enables us to measure changes in the internal digital maturity companies. These have been profoundly transformed by a number of upheavals: the widespread introduction of the hybrid work since the health crisis, the rise of theArtificial Intelligencenew expectations in terms of management...
Against this changing backdrop, how will internal digital information, communication and collaboration systems evolve in 2025?
💡Small insight into a key teaching in this expanded edition: generative AI is taking its first steps into the intranet, with 2 major uses identified.
The Observatoire Intranet augmenté 2025 highlights the digital maturity of organisations through a typology of sociotypes. These profiles are defined along two complementary axes:
the level of equipment in-house digital systems,
the level of use of these tools by employees.
This approach, which has already been applied in 2023, shows the diversity of in-house digital practices.
🔗 The visual metaphor used - that of interconnected jigsaw pieces - illustrates the interface between different digital universes. It symbolises both the fluid interactions between services and thepersonalised access digital working environments.
Multiplication of connected universes (jigsaw puzzle)
A distinction is made between three levels of functional richnesseach corresponding to a major type of internal system encountered in organisations.
These levels reflect the diversity of functionalities offered to employees, from basic intranets to advanced collaborative platforms incorporating customised services.
🧩 The image of a world in puzzle form symbolises this rich functionality Each part represents a module or a connected service, contributing to a coherent, modular digital environment tailored to internal needs.
The isolated universe represents organisations that have not deployed a system or one with very few functionalities.
The two connected worlds correspond to organisations that have deployed a partial functional system.
The 3 interconnected universes correspond to organisations that have deployed a complete digital system.
Level of possible interactions within universes
Le level of use of the digital devices deployed is a key criterion for assessing the digital maturity organisations and their level of digital transformation.
It also makes it possible to measure the effectiveness of capital projects in place.
📑Each element corresponds to an interaction group and is used to measure the appropriation of tools by users.
The universe with a single element concerns organisations with a low level of commitment on the part of their staff and very little internal digital use.
The universe containing a few elements of interaction corresponds to organisations where only part of the population is involved and where the first uses are emerging.
The universe contains a number of interacting elements of different kinds represents organisations whose employees and managers are committed and where practices are developing.
